93XRT Presents... Buckwheat Zydecowith Josh Charles
If you've seen a Buckwheat show, you know what to expect: rocking, stomping, good time Creole party music. If you haven't seen Buckwheat Zydeco live, you're missing one of the music world's most exciting and fun performers. A Louisiana native, Buckwheat is an accordion player and is one of the most popular contemporary musicians of zydeco music. Zydeco is a type of American roots music that formed out of Louisiana Creole music, and it was made popular in the 1950s by Clifton Chenier, Buckwheat's mentor. Buckwheat incorporates zydeco with funk, R&B, and rock, making his own fusion of upbeat dance music.
