Farewell Drifters
The Farewell Drifters create harmonic roots music that draws influence from the traditions of folk, bluegrass, film scores, 60's revolutionary pop, and their young Nashville peers. They have been delighting audiences everywhere from MerleFest to intimate listening rooms, and their album “Yellow Tag Mondays” debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart.
Echo Boom, the band’s third album, displays a growing maturity both musically and thematically, as the band considers the pressures and expectations placed on their generation by the previous one, and the ramifications of some of the vague self-actualization advice passed on by the boomers to their latchkey kids.

Looking forward to seeing you guys tonight. I hope everyone's vocal chords are all healthy and well. Meeting my fun group of rock climbing friends at barnone to sing along to tip of the iceberg and such. We may even bring hula hoops!

The Farewell Drifters are playing in Evanston tonight. We're playing a private event in WI, so we can't go. If anyone goes, tell us how awesome it was tomorrow. Great band.

Quite a double bill tonight with The Farewell Drifters and Larkin Poe. Both of these bands are a little folky, and little bluegrassy, and some damn fine songwriters. You may remember Larkin Poe playing a packed show at SPACE in 2009 in their previous incarnation as The Lovell Sisters, and The Farewell Drifters left quite an impression in Evanston last summer. We highly recommend this show. Just $12 on-line or at the door tonight! Doors at 7:15, LP at 8pm, FD at 9pm.
